Where do I place the Thermal Sensor?
I recently purchased the Microfly Blue case. Nearly everything is working well. I am not exactly sure where to place the Thermal Sensor...
The manual says place the Thermal Sensor into the CPU heatsink (pg.5). I have done this. But I am curious if I am suppose to place (wedge) the Thermal Sensor between the heatsink and the processor for a more accurate setting. Is this correct? Please let me know. Thank you, Freddie |

Thank you Cricket!
Cricket,
Thank you for your insight on the placement of the sensor. I did place it between the fins of the heatsink but wasn't sure that was right. BTW, when placed in the fins of the heatsink, is it an accurate reading of the CPU temp? Thank you, Freddie |

Not so much accurate, but it gives a good ballpark figure.

I have a case with that fancy shmacy LCD Temp thingy. I just let the thermal probe dangle in there for ambient temps. Seeing that BRIGHT WHITE wire jammed into the heat sink made me kinda ill since I like to keep a tidy case. Though you may not have a white wire and you may not mind as much as I did... I'm kind of picky.
If you want a better guesstimate for you CPU temps you should use a program like Motherboard Monitor or Everest. These are still not gauranteed 100% accurate but it will be much closer then the thermal sensor shoved in the heatsink.

Depending on your need for accurate temperature numbers...it seems like most peoples worries about temps. is overkill. If you are just wanting to monitor for safe gaming or multi-tasking that close/ballpark reading is fine. If it's for pushing your system to the max and your in it for the whole "brain sport" thing... heck...enjoy!
