iDE RELOCATION again
Hey GLC from a thread i posted a few days ago. the hard drive that i was going to move from one computer to another well i forgot to mention that the drive i was moving was coming out of a dell to one of my BUILDS. can that still be done? or am i faced with having to purchase a new os to install?? Thanks GLC!!!

You will not be able to do a repair install with a Dell CD, it's locked to a Dell bios. You can try the IDE controller trick as outlined in the Tips and Tricks thread - if that doesn't work you will have to buy a new OS. Note that using that Dell preload on a different computer is a violation of the EULA. There is a very good chance that even if you do get it running, you will not be able to get a reactivation.
