10k drive worth it ? sata or SCSI ?

Many people have recommended that i use a 10k hard drive , mainly the WD raptor and the Fujitsu line. I have read that the raptor was really loud and the Fujitsu one requires a SCSI card. Do many motherboards have a SCSI interface built in ?

Guess my questions are first is the overall advantages of the 10k drive worth the added expense or is that money better spend one something else like a better processor? Is there any advantage of SCSI over SATA ?

No. You find the SCSI interface mostly on workstation and server class motherboards.

A 10K HDD will make your computer perform a little snappier but I think I would rather put the money towards more RAM or a slightly faster CPU.

Not really. SATA is actually based on SCSI technology but it uses a different interface. SATA is meant for home use and SCSI isn't...SCSI parts are expensive and setting it up isn't that straight forward. I guess one thing that SCSI is known for is it's ruggedness and reliability...these are important for critical service applications.
