Maxtor?
Noticed not many people here run with Maxtor hard drives. Has the purchase by Seagate shook down to the production line as far as dependability? Have had several Maxtor hard drives and have had no problems at all. What experiences have you all had with Maxtor?

I've used Maxtors many times. I have gone with them because they were cheaper than the other brands. Have had 1 failure in a box that ran 24/7 for 3 years.

Never have trusted them. I do have one in here that's fine but I've had to replace too many for comfort for customers.

I had one that caused me to lose all my documents and data due to corrupted failure, nothing useful could be retrieved. It lasted 6-8 months and it was only a few hours 3-4 days a week. Seagate has never failed for me and runs very smoothly and quite; I'll never go back.
