dvd rw/cd rw drive wont read cd's
Hi guys. My sister just bought a new HP laptop that has a combo dvd/cd rewritabe drive. The computer will play movies when a dvd disc is put in, but wont read any cd's. Can someone please tell me why this is?

Return the laptop.
Dual drives can and do lose the ability to burn/recognize one type of disk or the other, but this one was defective out of the box. Get it replaced.
