Hi
I have been having problems trying to use the upgrade facility of Vista Premium it will not install, so I have decided to try a clean install. I have two partitions on my HDD roughly 150GB each, my existing OS is on the first partition, whilst I have all my photos, music and films etc. on the second partition. So, If I install Vista in place of XP will it wipe the whole drive clean or just the partition I am installing it on i.e. the first one? Thanks

You should receive an option during the install process to select the partition you wish for the OS. Just read each step carefully and don't assume anything. If you don't get a screen giving you the proper partiton then don't finish the install. Or you could backup all your files to another drive before you do the install. That would be the safest option.
