Is your printer cable IEEE 1284 compliant? Try a different cable.

Hi glc

Im not sure received cable when i bought printer back in 1998 I put an order in yesterday Printer Cable I.E.E.E 1284 Standard Bi-Directional.

Thinking it maybe my cable following troubleshooting on HP website.
I noticed that the end of the cable that connects to printer it spins around its intact but you can spin it around.
will see if things are ok when I receive my cable.

Thanks glc

cheers

Hello

I removed printer port in safe mode restarted pc windows found printer port
But still have problems.

In Bios Peripherals Setup
On board Parallel Port :378/IRQ7
On board parallel Mode: :ECP+EPP
ECP Mode Use DMA Mode :3
EPP Mode Select :EPP 1.9 tried this on 1.7

Since I have connected new cable I test communication and reads two-way communication working properly.
So I shouldnt have any hassels with computer port please correct me if Im wrong.!!!

Errors that I am getting

Writing Error to the parameter is incorrect.
Error Writing to LPT1; the parameter is incorrect
Coulour Print Cartridge is Incorrectly Installed
Resume lighting continuely flashing

I cannot test anything else in hp toolbox only lets me test communication any others I try to test I get the errors above.

Man Oh Mannnnnnnn load of hhhhhhhhhhhmmmm
