the blue screen of the death READS...
inaccessible-bootable device.
this is means the hard drive is done for its an office computer that seems to have a pata hard drive i tried to start in safe mode and the blue screen of death follows then when i try to start safe mode with cmmand promp the same blue screen of death. tried running a check disk but the pc wont boot from disk went into bios and changed the boot priority and it still wont boot from floppy, what can i do thanks guys

Pull the hard drive, slave it to another pc and see if you can access it to save any data. If not, it's time for a new hard drive and a fresh load. And data recovery becomes a question of how deep your pockets are.

yeah im pretty sure its the hard drive its weird that the computer wont boot from the floppy disk instead it goes into the win 2000 load page and then the screen of death follows the computer was working fine thursday night when we left so im kinda sure its the hard drive |

because i work here at the office i dont have enough time to spend on the computers since i need to be attending custmers
but this morning the tech guy came and i have no clue what he did but the computer is up and running. the only thing he said was that the harddrive was corrupted , and when i asked him what he did he said " Magic "..lol i will be taking his job soon anyways but what do you guys think he did to fix a hard drive with corrupted data? i think the floppy i was using that day was not working was trying to run fdisk to check for errors thanks guys |

Well, if you cant recover the data yourself, you can send it away to a data recovery lab where people in bunny suits in dust-free rooms will take apart your drive and try to get your data back. I've never used one of these services before, but I'm sure its expensive.
