Smile Stock Intel Fan Loud

Hello! I have a Pentium D 805 in my computer using the stock intel fan. My computer runs great, but I decided to just leave it on 24/7. I've done that for the past week, and it's fine, altough the stock heatsink fan is pretty loud. I can still fall asleep, but I wish it was quieter. I have two other fans in my case, but those dont make much noise.

Is there anything I can do? The core 2 duo fans are much quieter.

Thanks!!

You can try to use the Asus QFan controls to make it quieter when there is not much CPU load.

I was thinking more in the lines of replacing the HSF (dont want to compromise the tempreture). Can anyone tell me of an effective, low-noise, easy-to-install cooler for 775? Thanks!!!

Use www.petrastechshop.com and www.svc.com for a good selection as well as others.

Look at Scythe, Thermalright, and Arctic Cooling for good brands.

Bigger the better, but bigger the heavier too. So keep that in mind.

Look for 120mm heatsinks for quiet.
