Question Pentium D not showing real speed.

Hi, I biuld my Pc with a Pentium D 2.8GHz , But in Windows XP it only shows 2.38GHz. What cac it be? I didnt purchase the more or less expoensive version to get less performance than the cheaper one! Help please, Thanks

CPU speed in System Properties dialog box may differ from actual CPU speed

Check in the bios and see how the cpu is being recongized. Check the FSB and Multiplier and see if they are correct for that cpu. Also check the bios version of your mobo and compare it to the board manufacturers info regarding which bios version supports your cpu.
