I'm replacing an ASUS mobo with an Intel D865GLC. The mobo has headers for Front Fan and Rear Fan, but not for the PSU Fan. I'd think monitoring the PSU fan would be more important than the second case fan, so can I plug the PSU's monitoring lead into that second Case Fan header without any problems? Or because it's a powered header, will that cause some sort of difficulty?
Thx.

Kov, I'm pretty sure that the monitoring cables from fans don't allow any voltage to be carried (just the one wire on ones I've seen) - so it's fine to connect them to any header. I've done so with an Antec SmartPower on a couple of systems, just for thoroughness, and have had no problems.

My assumption was the same, as there's no power wire on the PSU lead - just the ground and the data. But, I know what happens when I assume things... Just needed some backing before I did it. Thx!
