Ram Not Fitting in my NForce 680i?

OK here's the deal.

I just received my NForce 680i from the US (I'm in the UK) and I've been installing it and attaching all the components etc. The only problem is, my ram, Corsair 1GB Platinum, doesn't fit. The slit doesn't aline with the slot.

Any advice before I go crazy?

The NForce 680i seems to be a chipset. Can you give us the motherboard manufacturer and model number?
(e.g. ASUS M2N-MX)

Off the top of my head, it seems like you're trying to fit DDR RAM into a DDR2 slot, or vice versa.

Hmm that's probably the problem. I was SURE that the ram was DDR2 though, that's £200 down the drain .

And as for the model number, it's a eVGA 122-CK-NF68.

Edit: Yup, it's official, the ram is DDR.
