Document Scanner
I need to purchase a document scanner to archieve a bunch of old documents and for ongoing office use in order to store electronic copies of contracts and other documents we previously have kept in paper form only. The stipulations are that it has to work for Mac computers and must be less than $1000 (the cheaper the better). Although pages per a minute is a concern to the high volume of documents I will be scanning, I need something with a high enough resolution that documents can be read and reproduced if need be easily.

Does it need to be a network scanner? We have a couple of Fujitsu fi 4010CU scanners at work. They are quite fast and have decent output. I don't see a Mac driver for it but they do have Mac drivers for some models.

Network capabilities would be a plus but I'm having a hard enough time locating a decent Mac document scanner that at this point it is hardly a deal breaker. I have an extra machine which I could use for scanning purposes only. Thanks for your help, keep the suggestions coming.
