HP 1502 LCD Monitor Problem
Hi, I have just purchased 2x HP 1502 15" LCD Monitors. When I got them home and tested them, they both have the same fault. When I switch on the computer, the monitor switches on and the POST screen comes on as expected, then, after a couple of seconds, the backlights go off. then they switch on and off at regular intervals. I don't think it is a loose connection due to the fact that the on/ off is regular, and both monitors are the same. I have tried them on 3 different PC's, and the same happens. I was wondering if HP has done something to stop you using them on PC's other than HP.

I doubt that is the issue. Suggest you return both and getting something better..

Hi, thanks for the reply. I can't take them back as they were bought at auction. I am sure there must be a way arround this problem.

Well if you can't get anything with those HP monitors on different pc's, I would try a different monitor from another pc to see they work.. If they do then no there isn't a work around, you just purchased two bad monitors.. If you bought them at a auction, what was the return policy if any...

I had this problem too, but after doing some testing and lowered my refresh rates and resolution i never encounter that problem again. so not all of them are dodgy.

Hi, thanks for the reply. It turned out that the power distribution board had some blown capacitors. A common fauly, but quite cheap to fix if you know someone who is a good hand with a soldering iron. Hope this helps someone in the future.

Is xstevex and steve1012 the same person? Please send me a PM, we only allow 1 account per person and I need to merge them. Tell me in the PM which name you want to keep, and which e-mail address you want to use. I'll merge the accounts and send you a password reset.
