DVD+-R...any downside to sATA

OK, so newegg's customer service is great and asked me if a FASTER burner of the same type made by liteon is good for a replacement of the defective one..wow! But im thinking of actually taking the $29.99 refund and getting a sATA dvd+-R by liteon. Is there any downside to these? I have tons of open sATA ports - 6 to be exact. The reason i ask is because i hadnt seen sATA drives becoming very popular. my other DVD burner in the computer (non-lightscribe one) is on regular ATA, wouldnt it be faster to have one sATA and one ATA? Thanks.

All I see are upsides to SATA drives.

SATA opticals are what is recommended for new builds now too.

That would be a good one. Lite-Ons are a good brand to go with.

yeah, i love them, theyre a bit loud (supposedly plextor is quieter but theyre a tad more expensive). this is the first time i've had a problem w/ one (this is my third one). oh well, even the best brands fail sometimes, and thats why you buy from newegg...good cust. service. Ill take the 29.99 credit and put it towards something sATA.
