Exclamation deleted partition

Hi

while reinstalling windows on my main partition i acidently deleted a partition containing lots of files wich i would very much like to get back

I have NOT formatted this partition i just pressed delete in the windows setup screen.
would anyone have any ideas if its possible and how?

ps. it might be important, in dos mode the partiotions are seen as follows.

0 primary 7.8 mb
1 Extended 39.2 GB
2 Extended logical unformatted 39.2 GB
3 is ok
4 is ok
in windows i can only 'see' c wich is the system and works fine, D wich is the one i am trying to restore (39.2) and E data works fine too..

Thank you very much.

J

Here's a link to PC Inspector, http://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/uk/welcome.htm it works good, and is free. I also have had excellent results from spinrite but it is not free.

good luck with the recovery.

I just did something very similar. I ended up buying File Scavenger. Another one that's good is Easy Recovery. What I liked about Scavenger was that it provided an indication of the file quality (Poor/Good) so you could avoid restoring garbage.
