quick question about diff/same ram

a little confused about the following two "types" of ram.

the only difference i can see is the platinum heat spreaders. now is this better then the black heat spreaders or is this a superficial look? i was thinking for a while that it was better but the price is the same. can anyone give me some info into this?

They are indeed the exact same sticks of RAM, the timings and model number is identical. I would think the price would be different if Corsair was going to make the claim that heatspreader color affected performance (it does not), so pick which ever is your favorite. Its the same engine under the hood.
