Computer makes odd noise when certain program running.

I'm doing some OpenGL development on my computer and whenever I launch an executable that renders a scene then my computer starts making a low volume, but a higher pitched noise. The noise sounds like maybe a really fast tapping of a pin on metal, but so fast that you can't really discern different taps, but you can still notice it. Almost like a really fast buzzing. It's nothing loud at all, you have to really be paying attention to hear it, I'll record it when I get back home.

It only happens when something is rendering on the scren, when I minimize it it goes away. Anyone know where this sound is originating from?
