AM2 Heatsync Problems

Alright guys, I have a M2NSLI motherboard, which meanes i've got the Thermalright AM2 RM (Rev.A) Retention bracket..which broke. Just the little plastic knob the heatsync latches onto.

So, what are my options? Do all heatsyncs require said knob, i'd imagine they would?

Or should I break out the drill and put some good old ziptie holes in the plastic outside and fasten it down onto the processor?

Need help, will offer internets and thanks in exchange.

I would drill it ....I would get ahold of the motherboard customer service and see if they will send you another bracket...those things are pretty sturdy...how did it get broken..?
