Try the drive in another computer. If the problem persists in another computer, it broken. Samsung optical drives aren't very reliable.

Try going into device manager... uninstall the optical drive from in there... restart and allow Windows to redetect the drive... after that... see if the issue is resolved.

You are saying that the drive is still reading the media fine right? The only problem is the "Auto-Run" deal?

Lite-Ons are popular among the crowd here. But troubleshoot the Samsung first... confirm it is faulty... before spending your money on a new drive.

Do you have the newest Windows update installed?

You can try this: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q155217/

Some people also find it useful to locate the "NoDriveTypeAutorun" value in the registry and simply delete it.

I am using Winxp sp-2 and updated regularly. The website you suggested is not for xp professional . Where do I can find "NoDriveTypeAutorun" in registry and how?

Go to run... type in "regedit" and and hit okay.

Once the Registry Editor window opens... go to "Edit" menu and click on "Find"... then type in "NoDriveTypeAutorun" and it should be able to find it.

Did you also change the "AutoRun" value in the registry to 1 already?

Thanks a lot for your support, when I edited my registry keeping "AutoRun" value 1 inplace of 0 . After restarting computer its Auto run start working.
Thanks once again and suppose to stop this issue.
