With the addition of a digital camera to our family I have started to spend some major $$$ on ink carts.
I noticed that Staples has the Epson Stylus 880 for around $80 with free shipping. From what I can recall I think Maximum PC gave that printer a decent review. I did some price checks on ink and noticed that it is WAY CHEAPER than the HP carts I have been buying. see here: http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI...tem=1276016110 I'm currently using a HP Deskjet 882C printer w/ HPC1823D (color) and HP51645A (black) carts... these are costing me ~60 to replace. What will I be giving up (if anything) by making a move to an Epson? |

Just from my personal experience, I wouldn't touch an Epson or a Canon printer. I have yet to see any printer from Canon that I actually like and the Epsons seem to not like me. Every time I try to print, it comes back that there is no paper, which there is. Somebody else can come along, not touch anything on the printer and print fine. I have yet to ever print from an Epson... go figure. I prefer the HP, then refill the cartridge.

Ive got an epson 400, its about 4 years old, but it still works great, and the quality is amazing on 720dpi. although it is SLOW. HP are much faster, but if speed isnt important, epson might be better if its cheaper.
or you could get ink refill kits.
