Ok, I am trying to correctly time my DDRSDAM and am not sure which numbers to change to what...
My motherboard is A8N-SLI Deluxe and my Ram is CORSAIR XMS 2GB (2 x 1GB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel The correct timing is 2.5 - 3 - 3 - 6. It timing has defaulted to what the picture is : http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...7/DSC06244.jpg Which numbers need to be changed for proper timing? Thanks again, Josh |

What timings do you get when you set the ram to Auto?

Change Cas to 2.5 and Min Ras to 6 to match your specs. The other timings are already at 3.

Great, got up this morning and did as directed and booted. The LED indicators where less active showing that the load was lighter due to the correct timing, worked like a charm just like I knew it would. Thanks Panama_Red really appreciate the time.
I am curious about one thing though. I know that the timing obviously is not that hard, although how did you know exactly which ones to change? I understand that a task like this is experience based although I have heard of timing RAM for years and have never seen anything describing which numbers correlate with each numbers necessary operation task. So if the timing on the ram for example is 2.5 - 3 - 3 - 6, then how do you know which number indicates which to change. Does this timing format indicate the same CAS# Latency, Min RAS#, RAS# to CAS#, and Row Precharge Time in all timing descriptions? Thanks again, Josh |

tCAS, tRCD, tRP, tRAS.
TCL = CAS Latency Time Trcd = DRAM RAS# to CAS# Delay Trp = DRAM RAS# Precharge Tras = Precharge delay |

Take a look at this thread. It does a good job of explaining memory types and functions.
