Decided on mobo...
http://www.ecsusa.com/K7S5A.cfm
I'm looking at this motherboard since it will support my memory. Does the processor have to have the same fsb as the memory or will it work properly? I've read about clocking down the memory and am not sure how I would do it. |

There are much better choices than ECS.

ECS = PCCHips = Crap
It may work great, but if it doesn't, don't say we didn't warn you. No crying on shoulders allowed when you were warned beforehand .

Thanks for the help. It was a friend who reccomended this board to me and I thought that it had a good price. He uses it himself and says his computer is pretty stable. I also read some good reviews of it by Tom's Hardware. I have to interest in overclocking my CPU and the reviews stressed that it is stable and fast but has few ocing oppurtunities. The pcb is black.
This was the only board I found that has dual pc100/133 and ddr sdram slots.

My shop is at the local university and they have machines that use ECS motherboards. If you were to go to computing services and ask them about the failure rate, it's in the area of 30% in the first year. Not good.
