High Speed USB problem
I have a motherboard Asus Socket 478 P4V 800 D-X and it says it is equipped with USB 2.0 and is enabled in bios but when I run my IDE to USB Adapter USB 2.0 with an external HD connected it is saying that my system don't support High Speed USB 2.0. It is not found on my system.
Yes I can see the hard drive in Explorer but I get that warning. Does this mean I still have to purchase USB Host Card? Thanks Dave |

Hmmm...SP2 has native support for USB 2.0 so I'm not really sure what's going on here.

If you are using the front usb port, switch it to one of the rear ports. I have had some ASuS boards where the usb ports are NOT 2.0 but the rear ones are. HTH

Does the USB section have any "enhanced" controllers? It should have one. If not, I'd bet that you need to install the motherboard chipset drivers. That's a VIA-based board and chipset drivers need to be installed from the motherboard CD or download from Asus.

Hmm - then you should have 2.0. I would still try to clear those other devices.

Yes glc those flags were the problem.
I installed the chipset and they went away and now I do not get the usb warning any more. I just knew that my mobo had support for usb 2.0 I will take my USB card back. You just saved me $20.00!!! Once again thanks guys. Always great help here. |
