Did you reset the jumper from master to slave in back of the cdrom? Remember it was a master on ide 2 now it is a slave on ide 1. Also in the bios set up did you enable slave on ide 1?

I know I am beginning to sound like a stuck record, but if you are using an 80 wire Ultra ATA cable, drives have to be jumpered Cable Select and the position of the drive on the cable determines master and slave - blue connector on mobo, gray to slave, black to master.

Also - if you have conventional 40 wire cable and your hard drive is a WD or a few other select models, MASTER and SINGLE are 2 different things and are jumpered differently.
