HD Mystery

I have a Seagate ST3300620A 300GB IDE drive and I had to reload XP. Well, I have a WD180GB drive, another Seagate 400GB Serial ATA drive, and of course the problem child drive. I also have a PCI ATA133 card which the drive I am having trouble with is on. The drive is showing 127GB under MyComputer and when I go into disk management it is showing 127 GB Healthy and 151 GB Unallocated.

It is very confusing because my other drives that are over the 137 GB are showing up correctly. And, I was running the problem child drive on the PCI ATA133 card prior to reloading XP. I have LBA enabled obviously or the other drives wouldn’t be showing up.

I have tried switching it to the IDE ports on the board, but it didn’t make any difference. I also tried the drive on another PC and it is doing the same thing.

I have critical data on the 300GB drive and I need to get it off! I have not formatted the drive because there is critical data on the drive.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks in advance!!!

What happens when you install SP2 and the latest ATA133 card driver? If it's still showing 127 and the rest unallocated, your data may be corrupted or you may need data recovery.

Hindsight - when reloading Windows, disconnect all hard drives except the OS drive.

I forgot to say that I have SP2 installed. I have the only ATA driver that I know exists. And like I said, it WAS working just fine with the driver I have. I had all of the drives connected when I installed and the others were unaffected.

Yeah, I WILL disconnect all of them next time!
