External Hard Drives

Are the limits in size of hard drives an issue with external USB 2.0 drives? I know the one I made myself to put in the enclosure had to be formatted, do the pre fab external ones need to be as well? Thanks BTW, I have WIN98SE, how high can I go with either route?

I've seen prefabs 1TB and higher. Wind 98.2 can see only 137GB. Whether or not any large prefabs will work or not with Win 98.2, meaning if they have special software or not, I have no idea.

You can use a drive larger than 137gb with 98.2, you just have to break it into several FAT32 partitions.
