HP890c prints in IE6 but not in MS Word, Word Pad

I have this HP 890C printer which prints fine in Windows Explorer 6 but for some reason will not print in MS Word or Word Pad. It goes through the motion but nothing gets printed out. It's a relatively new cartridge but since it prints fine in Windows IE6, there has to be something else wrong. It did work. I did try reinstalling the driver. Oddly, it works with this other HP812C printer I have. The correct printer is there in the box with a check above it. I am using WinXP. It actually doesn't work in another computer I tired but it just seems odd that it will only print using IE6. Any ideas? thanks

I'm having a very similar problem. My HP PSC 1510xi took about 5 minutes slowly printing out a page covered in gray when I told it to print out some sheet music from Acrobat Reader, and now it won't print from MS Word, but prints fine from Mozilla. Sounds like they might be having the same problem, but I've been unsuccessful in finding any solutions so far...
