Issues burning WAV files for use on car's cd player

hey all

i've been experiencing something quite strange for the past couple weeks. i recently got a new dvd burner and it was a much needed upgrade from my old sony 8x max burner...now, i'm not all that new to burning so i'm pretty sure of what i'm doing. the issue i'm having is that audio cd's that i burn are unreadable on any cd player or drive on any pc. i go thru the whole burn process no problem and the cd is succcessfully completed. so i double check thru explorer and all the files are 44 bytes, which explains why no cd player is reading the discs, what i cant figure out is what this is happening. again, this has only become a recent issue. i have burned audio discs with my new drive a couple times and had no problem afterwards, however the discs DID become unreadable after about a week, which puzzles me. this happened in my car's cd player. i was listening to a few discs no problem, hit the button to switch discs, and that was it, the cd player stopped recognizing all the discs in the 6 disc changer that same day. i tried burning new cd's...same problem. i tried switch out the burner for my old one...same problem. i went out and bought new cd-r's...same problem. i tried burning at a lower speed...same problem. i tried diff burning software...same problem. updated the new drive's firmware...same problem. i even went thru so much as to make a data cd of the wave files, which was SUCCESSFUL, bring that disc and a blank to disc to work so i can burn on the pc there...SAME PROBLEM. now what the hell is going on?? any clue? i've tried almost everything and am still stuck. to reinterate...i convert some mp3s to wav files, thru the same process i have done for the past 6 months, and then burn them. the wav files are reconized on the hdd as normal size wav files but once i burn make them into an audio cd, no cd player can read them including ANY computer cd-rom drive. i can see the files on the disc but they are crap(the disc IS recognized as an audio disc on the pc); they are identified as .cda files all only 44 bytes in size with a creation date of december 31st, 1994. please someone help!! my last guess is that its one of the files corrupting the whole lot...?

Hi
Please try to answer following questions

1. The Brand of the new CD - DVD Recorder incl. Model Number and Connection Type

2. The Brand of your Motherboard incl. Model Number - Ram CPU

3. The program you use to burn CD's

4. The *.CDA is correct and further it is correct that those files only show 44 Bytes in Explorer
Just Compare the CD's you burned to the Original. Some *Older* CAR Stereo Players can't read more than 70 Minutes of Audio CD's and some can't even read more than 16 Tracks.

Hope this helps

If you use a IDE Drive then if you have - DISABLE ENHANCED MODE for IDE in the Motherboared Bios - had a similar Problem once on a Plextor DVD PLAYER.

1) the brand is Samsung and the model number is SH-S182M...its an IDE connection

2) The motherboard is an Abit NF7, cpu is an old AMD xp 1700+ overclocked from 1.4ghz to 2ghz, RAM is 256mb of OCZ pc3200

3) I have used multiple programs to burn...each were successful and gave me no problems before this issue started up.
DeepBurner, Nero 5.5, Nero 7, and CD Burner XP Pro 3

4) Ok I didnt know that the files should all show as 44 bytes...my car's cd player didnt have problems playing them before, just one day out of the blue, it decided to stop playing after I tried to switch discs in my cd changer. NONE of the 4 cd's I had in there worked, including one cd that I burned before with the older drive that I had no issues with. Also, that does not explain why.....

EDIT: I think I have figured it out....my car's cd player went to poo. I was just able to play all the discs that I thought I had problems with on my secondary regular cd-rom drive which has that extra cable connected for the transfer of cd audio (i totally forgot about that cable since its been so long since I have built a pc)...which might explain why the discs werent playing on the pc's at my job.
