e4300 temps are back up?

Was just noticing that my temps. are back up to high 40's to low 50's w/ no load?

Have a small form factor case w/Zalman 7000 HSF, properly applied AS-5 and with the side panels off, the temps. are at low 40's using Core Temp.

Double checked the HSF installation and found a perfect, full contact smear pattern in the Arctic
Silver.

Now my last build using this case was with an Athlon64 3200 and those temps were in the high 20's to low 30's. Is it unreasonable to expect lower temps than I'm getting? Everywhere I look, I'm seeing people getting much lower temps.

I have an E4400 and I get 40C to 45C while idling, and when I play games I get high 40's, and occasionally a low 50. So your temps don't seem to bad, just a little high.

Ambient room temperatures will affect the temps you're seeing in the computer, so if the room is warm the temps in the computer will be higher. If the room temps are cooler the temps in the computer will be lower.

Unless you're seeing heat related problems (freezing, slower performance, weird video problems, lockups, random reboots or random shutdowns) I really wouldn't worry about the temps...you'll know when the temps are too high because your computer will tell you.

Don't get obsessed with computer temps, just use your computer normally. Don't worry, be happy.

Right on. Figured I just might have been getting a little obsessive. However... I did tear the Zalman off (again!) and applied more AS-5 and the temps. are much better. Getting temps. with the panels on @ a steady 40 c. (Just a little pre-occupied with temps. because of this case being a known heat beast.) The sweet spot has been found!

Picking up a video card and with the temp. reduction, it'll have some more wiggle room for load temps. Done...Enough already!
