mic problems with vista

i bought this microphone, the plantronics .audio 300 a whiile ago and since then have gone to vista. I used this mic before with xp without problem, it was loud and clear. But vista is another story; i call my friend with xfire and skype and he can barely hear me when i have my mouth up to the receiving end of the mic. I downloaded the newest drivers for my sound card which is the creative sound blaster audigy SE. Any help would be appreciated.

Open your master mixer and look for advanced microphone properties, look for a box that says +20dB boost, check it.

I have no idea - in Win2K all I did was double click on the speaker in the systray, the mixer opened up, and under the Mic volume slider was an Advanced button.

yeah vista is all screwey, there isnt even a mic adjustment in the main mixer you have to go farther into the sound controls to even adjust the mic volume

since the microphone should be controlled by the sound card would this be a sound card with vista issue or a microphone with vista issue?
