USB Flash Drive to Serial or Parallel

If I am in the wrong forum for this question, sorry. I am wondering if there is any type of cable or gender-bender device that will allow me to connect a USB flash drive to a serial or parallel port on an older laptop that does not have a USB connection? I am giving my old T-pad 760XL to my granddaughter for her use. She has a flash drive that she uses for school homework and projects. So I am trying to give her a way to connect to the laptop, but have been unsuccessful in trying to find something that will work. Everything on the market seems to connect serial/parallel devices to USB and not the reverse. As always, any help from the forum is appreciated.

That will work as long as the 760XL has a Cardbus slot, not just a standard PCMCIA slot. If you look around you can find USB cards like that a lot cheaper. You will also need Win98SE or newer for proper USB support.
