constantly reinstalling drivers.

Every time I plug in a usb device, my pc has to load and install the drivers for it. It even has to install different drivers for nearly identical flash storage devices. It also has to reinstall the drivers if I put the device in a different port. Is there any specific driver I need to prevent this?

for nearly identical flash storage devices -> How "nearly" identical are the devices?

It also has to reinstall the drivers if I put the device in a different port-> Normal/to be expected.

Within the last week I have used 2 different usb hard drives and one 512 mb flash key.
I didn't have to do any driver installs for any of them.
What is your OS and , like EzStvy asked, how similar?
