ATA, ATA-6, IDE ??? whats the difference?
my laptop hard drive died it is toshiba IDE interfase, and right now i need to get new one, and on one site where i want to but new HD has hard drives with interfases ATA and ATA-6 whats the differance is it all the same IDE is same as ATA-6? another question, what is the best laptop hard drive that doesnt break, cause this is my 2nd Toshiba hard drive that beaks

Laptops use 2.5" hard drives and you need to see if it's a IDE or SATA HDD (IDE is basically the same as ATA...ATA-6 is the same as ATA100).
Fujitsu laptop hard drives are good. Seagate and Western Digital makes good desktop hard drives but I'm not sure how their laptop hard drives are. I think I would get a Fujitsu. Cricket

The best laptop drives are Seagate and Hitachi. I agree with you on Toshibas, they are junk. Fujitsu and WD can be problematic.
Believe it or not, I've also had decent luck with Samsungs. |
