Are my USB ports 2.0???

Is there an easy way to tell if USB ports are 2.0???I was not sure if all the ports on my new build were 2.0 or just a few of them...

I look in device manager and it lists 8 usb ports, 2 are enhanced. Now my motherboard manual says I have the ability for 12 USB 2.0 ports, 6 midboard and 6 on the back panel. (My case has 2 ports on the front)

How do I get all my ports to be 2.0???

Open your motherboard manual and read the specs for your usb ports.
If you post your specs we can check for you.

The specs for UCB say...

"12 x USB 2.0 ports (6 at mid-board and 6 at back panel"

Do I need to go into bios to make them all work at 2.0 standards???

No, it's inherent in the hardware itself.
They're all 2.0 just like the manual says.

So it all depends on what I plug into them if they will WORK at 2.0 standards???

Also in my device manager under USB are 6 listings reading...

Intel ICH9 Family USB Universal Host Controller (each followed by another number)

and 2 reading...

Intel ICH( Family USB Enhanced Host Controller

Are these the individual ports, and if so how are the enhanced different???

During the design phase of USB 2.0 the USB-IF insisted on only one implementation. The USB 2.0 HCD implementation is called the Enhanced Host Controller Interface (EHCI). Only EHCI can support hi-speed transfers. Most of PCI-based EHCI controllers contain other HCD implementations called 'companion host controller' to support Full Speed and Low Speed devices. The virtual HCD on Intel and VIA EHCI controllers are UHCI. All other vendors use virtual OHCI controllers.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB#Host_controllers

All your usb connections are 2.0.
If you plug in a 1.1 flash drive it will down clock to that but the connection is still 2.0.
As it says : Most of PCI-based EHCI controllers contain other HCD implementations called 'companion host controller' to support Full Speed and Low Speed devices.

The Enhanced controllers are parent controllers. Everything feeds off them and will be 2.0.

Each Universal controller handles 2 ports, and each Enhanced controller handles 3 Universal controllers on your board.
