pc hanging at post -usb ports not working
i have an old packard bell pc, which keeps hanging on start up, just at the packard bell screen..when i unplug the usb devices and power on and off, its fine...only one of the 4 usb ports are working, i run a small usb hub off that port.
if i plug the hub into one of the non working ports, the power light on the hub is on, but none of the devices show. im running windows xp. any ideas?...cheers |

Hi 2good,
Welcome to PC Mechanic !! ![]() That's typically when the USB controller is initialized. Do a chkdsk with the /f switch to fix errors. Then do a System Restore point. Then download and install the latest USB drivers for your system. Hopefully that'll do the trick... TwoRails |

Nothing different off the top of my head... If you list the exact model and system specs, you may get some other suggests.
