TIME SENSITIVE How can I clear a document from my printer queue?

Hi,

I've got an HP 5510 all in one printer. It was a gift, so I'm grateful for that, but it's been nothing but trouble. Currently, there is a document in the print queue that I can't delete. It was printing, a piece of paper got jammed up, I cleared that and opened the printer window, right clicked on the rest of the document and selected cancel. Nothing happened, and the error message on the printer screen wouldn't go away. I unplugged the printer, which re-set the error message but didn't clear the queue. I restarted the computer, which also didn't clear the queue. I tried to delete the printer from control panel, to no avail. It says "deleting" and shows two documents pending, but it won't delete. Please help, I need to print some stuff tonight.

Thanks,

Chris

Try unplugging the computer, reboot the computer and then plug the computer back in. Most of the time that fixes a hung job although it might spit out some extra pages when you plug it back in.

Deleting the printer from control panel will cause you all kinds of grief. Now you need to completely uninstall it using add/remove programs and reinstall it using the original CD or downloaded drivers.
