Question Quick RAM Question...

What is a good ram score for DDR2-800 Ram?

Im running an XFX(eVga) 590 Sli Mobo and an AMD 5600+@ 2.82 Ghz.

My Ram is running at 809 Mhz(DDR2) with 4(tCL)- 4(tRCD) -3(tRP) -8 (tRAS) and Bank Cycle(tRC) 17...@ 2.05v with 2T...it won't boot 1T...(BSOD)

Everest Home gave me a:

Ram Read score of 5576 MB/s
Write Score of 2807 MB/s
Latency Score of 47.7 ns

Thx for any help!

EDIT:......the tRC was on auto at 21...but I set it to 17 to get a little more perf.
I got 300 MB/s from it...(to get the above score.)

If your overclocking that could be the problem.. Back it down a bit and see what happens.

If you changed the settings on the ram, set them back to defaults.. I would also download and run memtest86 and tes the ram itself..

If the ram is giving you problems, download memtest like doubledragon mentioned and let that run for a bit.

ok. I'm getting confused. You started out talkign about ram.

What exactly is the problem you're having? What symptoms? What have you tried to fix it?

i developed a new prob today...

i have no prob with my ram whatsoever... that was just a question. today, i happened to be gaming, and guesswhat? my screen blacks out for about 5 secs, and the vid driver recovers.
it comes back and does the same thing about every 5 mins when gaming

Have you tried updating the video drivers?

Does it only happen in one game, or multiple ones?

What is your video card? PSU?

Have you opened the case and tried cleaning off the video card fan. Make sure it's not over heating.

I know you say the psu is not a problem, but would you have another one that you could try?

Are you sure it aint the power supply?

the Apevia PSUs are very poor quality in a flashy case...everyone thats tested one ended up in a flame....

I have one and i wouldnt even power my AM2 rig with it let alone yours....which is better than mine...

other than that as long as its passed at least 8 hours of Memtest v1.70 on test #5 and a minimum of 8-10 hours of Orthos for dual cores or multi-threaded Prime I would be inclined to think driver issue....try rolling the driver back...

If you even remotely think you are having ram-related issues, you need to set all ram timings back to AUTO. Let the motherboard do its thing. If that clears up your issues, leave it there and don't try any more ram tweaking unless you are prepared to reset it again. If you still have your issues, start looking for other reasons.
