Help with booting a Biostar T7025 Mobo
I was sitting listening to music and when I went to change to a different file my sound went out. I couldn't figure out what was going on, I couldn't even open up the volume control. So I restarted my PC and now it just sits on the screen saying " verifying DMI pool data". It normally goes to that screen but quickly moves on. Any ideas what is going on. I am using a Biostar T7025 Mobo. It is all in my signature.
Also one other thing, ever since I built the PC when I boot it stops at the screen before the DMI pool data screen and I have to press F1 to continue, didn't know if that was standard fare. Usually PC's just continue into your desktop right? Thank you ahead of time

So took my PC over to my buddy's house and we hooked up his HDD with an OS on it and it worked, but still no sound. The HDD of mine that had the OS on it still showed up and so I copied the files and brought it home. I was getting ready to reformat the HDD and install Windows again because we figured it was a OS problem. I put in my Windows disk and booted it and windows showed up. I thought that was weird so I took the CD out and turn on the computer w/o the disk. Everything worked. Went to my desktop and everything was there and the sound worked fine.
Any ideas about what is going on? Thanks |

Crap, I hate gremlins, especially when they get wet and start oozing that puss stuff everywhere. Have you ever tried to get that stuff out of couches and carpet? Impossible.

sounds like it could be many things....
try doing a boot of minimal hardware....see if you havent got something getting ready to die and it's causing conflicts... As for the F1....if you dont have a floppy drive hooked up and you have it enabled in the bios it will hang on the post screen until you hit F1.... If you have a floppy drive then F1 means it's booting in safe mode for the bios and you have a setting boogered...... ![]() good luck

Max thanks for the F1 tip worked like a charm. I don't really know what to do about the boot problem. It hasn't happened since and I think it is a OS problem cause everything worked when my buddy booted it w/ his HDD. I guess I'll wait and see.
Thanks for your help |
