Thermaltake: Good or no?

So I've heard from just about everyone else that Thermaltake is a good brand for cooling. However, from my experiences, Thermaltake kinda sucks. The CPU fan that I purchased, was about $20, but is noisy as heck, and recently, it seems like my CPU has been getting really hot, to the point of shutting down/ rebooting my PC.

Anyone else have any Thermaltake products go bad on them?

Not personally, but I wouldn't buy anything beyond a case from them...even that is a stretch. People here will likely steer you miles from Thermaltake.

Sounds like the heatsink fins are full of dust. When was the last time you removed the fan and pulled out the dust bunnies?

Their power supplies are a good value for lower end systems. Just don't try to use a single rail model for a PCI-E build. I've been using the single rail 420 watt one for AGP upgrades.

Their CPU heatsink/fan units are okay for stock replacements, but I do not consider them anywhere close to a premium cooling solution.

I cleaned the heatsink a while back, it still seems to be running loud and hot. Oh well. When I get the new processor, I will stay away from Thermaltake.

The stock retail cooler is plenty good for stock and mild overclocks.

I currentky have a TT CPU cooler and PSU. The cooler I have had for a while now and it has been good, extremely quiet, came with a PanaFlo fan. The PSU I have only had for a week or so now and it seems good, just have to wait and see. I like thier customer support though, they generally reply within an hour and are really friendly

I've had good luck with ThermalTake PSUs as standard replacements for low to
med performance PCs (400W & 430W PSUs). I only started using Thermaltake PSUs
in the last year or so. However, I'm curious to know what the major complaints might
be about Thermaltake that I might not be aware of.

In accordance with what GLC said earlier in this thread, if I had to choose a PSU, I'd sooner go with a higher end model simply because I know Thermaltake isn't at the top of the pile.

Watercooling gear is a bit of a different story. I've heard too much (and seen too much) to even touch them.
