disk boot error insert system disk
hi
Friend unplugged his machine moved it to a new location and now has this error problem. the hdd is detected i the bios, boot order is set to hdd first, no floppy or usb to interrupt the boot order. any ideas why, i suggested inserting the winxp cd, set the order to cd first but a wierd occurance. any suggestions for retrieving data if this does not work. |

Try replacing the data cable to the hard drive.

It generally means that there is no OS installed. Its a possibility that the data on the hard drive is corrupt. Did he by any chance knock hte computer anywhere or something like that?
I had the same problem once and re-installing the OS fixed the problem. |

I think you should check the data cable of Hard Disk. It is a HD related error and try reconnecting it.
