WILL MY mobo WORK W/ an AMD XP?

i have an IWILL KA266-R motherboard. i'm wondering if i could put an athlon 1800 on it (i have an alpha cooler, so i should be fine in that area).

I would believe so. The site has a bios flash under "BIOS/Drivers" heading that allows the board to support the Palomino core. Since the XP is a glorified Palomino core (I believe) it should work.

Thanks! i was wondering if that meant that i should go ahead and buy one. i'm skeptical to get one only because i need to make sure my board would handle it first. right now i have a duron 700 on that board (i know, i know) because i took the 1.4GHz 266 to sell to my dad. whatever the case, i need to get ahold of an XP and i'm really hoping that i can use it with this board too.

thanks again!

anyone acctually have this board tested w/ XP or know anyone that WOULD have it tested? thanks.
