Computer Runs to Noisy
Hey Guys im wondering if anyone can help me out with this question.
I recently built my own computer which works great however it would be better if it didnt make so much noise while its on. i have four fans inside my unit. one for the CPU heat sink and then three standard fans around the case (2 in the back and one on the side). im pretty sure its those three exterior fans that are making most of the noise. i dont know if there are any fans our there designed to run quietly that could help or if there is a way to make the fans run quieter. (im not looking to spend too much time or money on this issue like investing in liquid cooling or anything) Thanks to anyone who has any input! |

The easiest way to quiet things down would be to pop one of those extra fans on the back out completely. Your computer should be plenty cool still.
Otherwise, you can look into fan upgrades. Panaflo makes some good ones. You could also look up the 7volt mod. It's a quick little rewiring work to supply less power to the fans and slow them down.

If the case fans are connected to the motherboard, there may be some options in the BIOS to run the fans as temperture controlled or set to a lower RPM. Same thing may be done with the CPU fan. This will cost $0.
Another option is to buy a fan controller for the case fans, these run under $20

What size fans are they in the first place? If they're not 120mm you might wanna look into them.
