C2D Temperature Discrepancy
Did some upgrading over the holiday's and am finding it hard to get accurate temp for my CPU/System.
New Hardware: C2D E6750 / stock cooler Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 Mainboard 2gigs Crucial Ballistics WD 74gig Raptor I've been trying to get a clear view of what my temps are and the range is so far spread it's hard to be accurate. CoreTemp: Core #0 22c Core #1 22c CoreTempBeta: Core #0 36c Core #1 37c CPUID Hardware Monitor: Core #0 38c Core #1 39c and Gigabytes Easy Tune 5: System 35c CPU 29c Also inside the hardware monitor of EasyTune 5 I am getting a blinking traingular warning icon for the fans..!?!?!? I have no idea why, and if I turn audio warnings on, i recieve "Danger, Danger Danger...." over and over As yet I have very little faith with EasyTune after going through the chm file trying to find some answers, you get one line responses saying this section does this. With no explanation of what the warning or anything mean. Reading from BIOS: System: 34c CPU 35c These temps are all idle temps, not running any software besides what was used to get the temp. Anyways, Is there something more accurate I could use to gauge my temps as I'd rather not burn things up. Are these temperatures normal for my Processor? Any advice greatly appreciated and welcome. *EDIT Update* I've now tried using Intel Thermal Analysis Tool and it reports temperatures for both between 20c and 27c Last edited by xbot; 12-26-2007 at 11:49 PM. |

Not that it is an accurate answer, but if any of those listed temps are right, you'll be fine. It is really hard to tell because there is little in the way of standardization when it comes to measuring temps.

I have read that Core Temp Beta is the most accurate for C2D CPUs. If you look at the temps in core temp beta vs. Speedfan, speedfan is 15*C off, so you can set it to correct the temps by 15*C in speedfan and it will show the same temperature as Core Temp Beta.
