Will I have Heat Issues?

This is my first custom computer and I have no idea how the cooling is going to work out in the long run.

So I was wondering, will this XION Onyx with 2 x 120mm Fans and 1 x 140mm LED Fan be efficient enough cooling for my Core 2 Duo e6750 and e-GeForce 8800GT as well as the rest of my components?

My video card, cpu and power supply all have fans and the cpu a heatsink aswell.

Is the stock fan and heat sink on the cpu good enough or should I really invest in a great cooling device? I'm scared my system will overheat because of the video card and power supply (600w)

It will be cooled enough if you have that configuration. Just make sure you air dust 'er out every once in a while to prevent dust from getting in there. I bought a custom CPU fan for my PC, and in my experience, it's not worth it. Sure, mine works fine but it is LOUD.

But your confifguration will work fine as long as you don't invite dust into your PC. My guess is that if the default hardware (fans and heatsinks) that came with the CPU and GPU didn't cool it sufficiently, the manufacturer would have a big issue on their hands.

Well it will be cool enough just make sure that your coolingfan is working properly and dust must notgo inside.....

Yes, the cooling setup on that case is more than adequate.

Use the stock CPU heatsink, it's designed to work with your particular CPU. Besides, if you don't use the stock heatsink you'll void the 3 year warranty on the CPU.

The power supply will have it's own fan(s) so it's taken care of. The case cooling will handle the 8800GT.

Once a week is a bit too often. I usually look every 3 months, amd in the 2 years I've had this PC only cleaned it once due to some dust.

That all depends where you live. My PC develops a blanket once a week here in Alberta. Especially in the summer.

Do you have your pc under your bed? You must have for that much dust getting in.

What tips do you have about putting a desk around it? (Walled in from both sides) Is that smart? I thought that makes it harder for the airflow with the fans.

Should I keep it on a desk or just out in the open on the ground.

You don't want it totally enclosed. Other than that, you can put it under / on a desk. Like hitchface mentions, it depends on where you live. At also depends on the inside environment. My second system is under a desk, right by were the long haired dog likes to sleep, and I hardly ever have to clean it; but that's because our house is sealed pretty good and there is very little dust about.

I personally never use the stock cooler. I once built someone a budget system and used a stock cooler and you know what happened? Didnt cool down the cpu enough and it ended up frying the board.

As for fans. I never use stock case fans. I go to sites and purchase the size fan i need with the best CFM (how much air can be pushed in a cubic foot per min) rating i can find. The fans may be a little on the noisy side but id rather have cooling then silence and high temps.

Good termal compound will drop your temps down, along with the type of core being used in your cpu and the amount of nanometers on the circuity.

I always keep my tower on the desk it does help the airflow especially if you have side vents. If you dont have side vents and just have the front intakes and hte back outakes then the encapsulation will not really matter. But like i said if you have side vents your gonna want to put it in a clear spot and keep the room cool. Not freezing just comfortable.

Dont use it on the floor if you have a carpet, carpets collect dust and all kinds of nasty stuff. Which your front intake fans will just suck up.
