Upside down motherboard cases ?

I see that silverstone temjin tJ06 case has the motherboard the other way round so the graphics card fan facing up.

Any one know any other good air flow cases that do this?

i think some case you can flip over and they still look good and do there job but i have mozart TX and i dont i could really flip that upside down lol

cheers

I've heard ups and downs about upside down motherboard cases.
No pun intended.
Only way to know is to try.
Then again, you may be stuck with a case that you aren't happy with, when all is said and done.

Lian-Li had a very nice case with a reversed MB but I dont know the number. It was part of their quiet series with the PSU on the bottom. Have never built with one myself but they are probably easier in some ways on wire management. My only effort with a PSU bottom case was with the antec 900 and it seems most of the wires have to go all the way to the top, the reversed MB would solve that problem maybe. Not sure what they do to case airflow though, having a big video card at the top where heat rises seems a bit backwards, it would tend to trap the risiing heat.

That case you linked to has the mobo upside down so the card faces up. On the top of the case there is a windows so you can see the otherwise hidden face of the card. It does nothing, if worsen, the cooling.

I have made two computers so far that use the Lian-Li upside down design. I have had no cooling or other problems and actually prefer the upside down design. There is nothing under the graphics cards or "up wind" of the graphics cards that creates heat so it is a non-issue. I like the look better. The hardest part is having to hang upside-down from the ceiling on a harness in order read the lettering on the motherboard.

Why would anyone want to pull hot air through a PSU at the top of the case? ...actually there is a heat bulkhead between the upper an lower areas of the case. Air goes in the front, past the drives and out the back via the PSU. There are two separate air patterns in the case where one does not affect the other.

I would think that if you have good case flow, the velocity of the air moving from the fans would overwhelm any convection from individual components. In other words, if your case is moving air, don't worry about one part heating up another unless they are almost touching each other.

something like this?

this case has a lot of fans, but im not fond of the sideways 3.5 drive bays.
this is the case i'm looking at getting when I next upgrade.

you mean the motherboard lays flat of the bottom of the case...?

I have a Ultra Micro-Fly that does that...runs very cool and very quiet even running 3.4ghz out of the 5000+ cpu I have...awesome case as far as I am concerned..
