mATX really isn't a problem for most people. The only real loss is a few PCI slots but with onboard sound/LAN, most people don't need as many as most ATX boards have.
That being said, Asrocks are 'ok' at best. You might look into a better brand. The Asus M3A is popular for AMD setups.

I have several mATX motherboard and when it comes down to it just pick one with the options that suit you best....
the current players I have and really like are the Gigabyte-690V and the Biostar 7050-M2 either board is nice and comes with nice options...I use mATX so I can use a mATX case (like the Ultra Micro-Fly) and save myself some space....the 7050-m2 makes for a nice HTPC also..

I wasn't really after saving space, it was the right kinda price and gave me the options was looking for but at a limited size. But as a rule if all i lose is a couple i PCI slots and theres no problems fitting it in my case then it could be the one.Rest assured i will take a look at the boards you have suggested, and i will be back to let you know how it goes. Thanks for your help.

I have an ASRock motherboard running in my main use computer. It has been going great for a long time and has been very stable. If I was to do a new micro ATX build I'd definitely go with either an Asus or Gigabyte as they have a better track record. I'm sure not going to stop enjoying what I have if it's all good though!
