2 Computers using same PSU

I was considering putting a mini ITX system inside my current system, and I was wondering if anyone had any prior experience using a single power supply to power both systems? I have a 850W ToughPower by Thermaltake, and the integrated graphics and single ram slot on the socket 462AMD dont seem to draw much power. I kno that I can buy a 24pin splitter cable, but does anyone know what will happen if I use that? I mean if i have my main system on and running, and the secondary system off, will it just turn on with the main system? Or can i still use a seperate power button?

Thanks for any help...

I think there would be problems with the switch on and off aspects, and the sensing of the motherboard.
