RAM will not fit in PC - Can anyone recomend the correct chip needed?

Hi All,

Sorry if this sounds like a daft question but I've got a Fujitsi Siemens Scaleo J computer.

I' m looking to upgrade the Ram by 1GB. I used the checker on the crucial website and it said the RAM at
http://www.crucial.com/uk/store/mpar...2E2123A5CA7304 would fit.

It arrived on Thursday but the notch cut out of the bottom of the chip it a CM or so out on my board and will not fit. Can anyone recomend the chip which will fit?

Are their two different types of chip which have the cut out but in different places?

Thanks alot,

Keith

Not sure what you mean by "CM." Is it possible you trying to install it upside down?

I think he means centimeter. Did you turn the chip around so that it lines up? According to your computer's specs, you have the correct memory.

Sorry, about a centimeter out.

I`ve turned it around and it`s not upside down - LOL

Could it be that the new memory you purchased is not what you ordered? Does it have a tag with the model/serial number? Is it the same size as the memory stick that's installed.

Thanks for the reply.

The model is what was ordered. I think the motherboard may be different though as it`s an MSI board and I`m not sure what board Fijutsu Siemens normally use.

Will have to find the manual and see what it takes

Thanks again for all the help,

Keith

What is the exact MSI model number? It should be silkscreened on the board somewhere, it begins with MS.
