Changing POST resolution?

Hey,

I always wondered if that's possible? To change the resolution of the screens to the monitor's native resolution before the windows login screen.

640x400 dates back to the DOS days.

I have a somewhat related question.

Sometimes people talk about how "Oh I got my system to POST" or "I couldn't even get it to POST!"

So, what does that mean exactly? Is that where you get it to the screen where, for instance, you'd press F2 (or some key) to get to the bios?

So basically if someone says they can't get a system to POST, they just mean they can't get any beeps?

They may get beeps, but they may not get that initial screen to come up and move on to a disk boot.
